I need to start over. Honestly, I have the best of intentions but I never planned on getting sick! I have been sick for several weeks, never being able to shake the cough and congestion that has been hanging around literally for weeks. This week I’d finally had enough and ended up at the doctor, and I’m a mess. I got scolded a bit. So I’m taking a few more days to actually start getting better and then I’ll be back, and I’m starting over.

I’m looking forward to feeling better and working hard again. I acutually miss Tony’s face. I don’t miss the walking funny, but the hot tub is fixed now, so I’ll have that to look forward to as a reward!

Day 22 – Core Syn

Back in gear again after disaster week! I’m doing week 3 over, so yesterday it was Core Syn and today it’s cardio day. I’m really sore again..imagine that! Feels good to be back in the groove again.

I forgot to wear my monitor yesterday, so I’ll start posting stats again later today or tomorrow.

Day 15 – Struggling

Time has me struggling this week, with too much to do and too little time to do it. I got home from work later than I planned and had to be someplace at 5pm, with other evening commitments, so I did not get my workout in today. The next few days look just as bad. Right now I’m thinking that I’ll be repeating week 3 next week, while trying to squeeze as much of Tony’s face in as possible. I just don’t know how much is going to be possible. Thank goodness this is not a race.

I did drink about a gallon of water today, that’s something, right?

Day 14 – Kenpo

Kenpo yesterday. I modified it, but I’m still not wild about it. I admit, I do like the punch series. We used to do a lot of that in class. Good stuff.

I like this program a lot, but I have to say that the time factor and the tiredness factor are kind of tough. I think that’s the hardest part. With a super busy week this week, filled with lots of obligations, it’s hard to find the time. I also think I have a sinus infection, I can’t seem to kick the headache and the toothache, and that makes it hard too.  Wah wah wah.

Days 12 & 13 – the Weekend!

Super busy weekend, and it was kind of a challenge to get everything in. The bottom line? I didn’t. I did my legs and back workout on Saturday as scheduled, but yesterday (Sunday) I had good intentions to do my Kenpo and it didn’t happen. We were tied up all morning, then had friends over to watch football in the afternoon. I figured I would get down to business after they left, but they left MUCH later than I had anticipated!

Today is my scheduled day off, so just like last week, I’ll get it done today instead.  That’s fine :)  I’m sure I’ll be working out next Monday as well, as I will be out of town this week from Fri-Sunday and I haven’t figured out how I’m going to make it all up yet. Maybe a double on Wednesday, then move yoga to Thursday, take Friday and Saturday off, then do Sunday after we get home and Monday. That should work!  We’ll see.

I was sure that starting week 3 I was going into my first recovery week, but NOPE.  That’s next week!  So today it’s Kenpo and abs, tomorrow Core Syn, Wed Cardio plus Arms and Shoulders and Abs, Thursday yoga, Friday and Saturday off, Sunday legs and back and abs, and Monday Kenpo again. Does that sound like a plan?

Eating is going fairly well. On Friday and yesterday I was within my Weight Watchers points, but didn’t make good choices.  Football and socializing are not good for my program!  Tomorrow is official weigh-in day.

Going to skip stats this morning….need to get out the door!

Day 10 – Shoulders and Arms, AbRipper

Last week when I did the Shoulders and Arms DVD, I got through it pretty easily.  What does that mean?  I need heavier weights.  I got some today and got to work to challenge myself more this afternoon. No little girlie weights here.

I’ve known that I’m stronger on my right side, but it wasn’t until today that I realized just how lopsided I really am. My right side is SO much stronger than my left, biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Ironically, it was my right shoulder that I had surgery on last year, and that still doesn’t make a difference.

So I don’t know what to do. If I pick the right weights to challenge my left side, it doesn’t challenge my right. If I pick up weights to challenge my right, my right side flames out in half the reps. At one point I used different weights on each side and that just felt weird. I can tell that the upper left side of my body is going to be paralyzed tomorrow!  Thank goodness I pick up my coffee cup and brush my teeth with my right hand!

Abs were abs.  A little progress, but still a pathetic show.

Yoga tomorrow. I hope I can feed all those dogs with only one functioning arm and shoulder!

Day 9 – Cardio X

It was Cardio X day I didn’t feel like looking at Tony.  So I looked at Tyra instead and got on the elliptical for 45 minutes, then did some squats, pushups, and lunges.

Does the tired thing ever improve? I’m not sleeping well because my body is sore, which makes me even more tired during the day. By 7pm, I feel like I’m going to fall over. I feel like I need a two day nap and a two hour massage. The leaky hot tub will be fixed next week and I’m really looking forward to that!

Day 8 – Core Synergistics

Well I made a huge mistake today. I didn’t eat lunch. I meant to eat lunch, but it just didn’t happen. On Tuesdays, I’m really busy all day, from the moment I leave for the office at 7am, to getting home and working out, to taking the kid to piano lessons, and evening commitments. It’s a busy day.  So it was a VERY bad day to skip lunch and come home and jump right into CS. Last night I promised my coach DonnyO that I’d get up extra early this morning and bring it, but I forgot to change my alarm and slept through it.  Sorry Coach.

I got through the workout okay, I know I did it way better than last week and I’m feeling it in my core area a lot more than I did before…already.  Improvement. But about 30 minutes after I finished, I started feeling a bit woozy. I’m sure it’s no coincidence that my calves were cramping up a bit today as well. So I sat down and had some peanuts, an apple, and chugged a bunch of water.

Burned 420 calories. I felt like it was harder today than last week, but I know for a fact I could do more and tighten my core more than I could last week for sure. Tonight I’m just completely whooped. I’m writing this at 8pm and I know that I could crash right now and sleep for about 12 hours! My whole midsection is SO sore.  I like that though, so it’s good.

Tonight I’m making steel cut oats in the crockpot. I’m looking forward to that tomorrow for breakfast. Mmmmm!
